The Twenty-First Gospel
What if it were this day and age when the Son of God was born? What if he was born in the United States, in the hamlet of Osceola, New York? What if his name was Joshua? What would Jack the Baptizer be like? What would the apostles be like? All men? Any crippled? Some twins? Not all Caucasian? Normal people who may experience love? What if the apostles worked with Joshua, not just for him? What if they were involved with college students? Children? Native Americans? What if Joshua's crucifixion was in a quiet lonely spot instead of in a crowded public place? What if the gospel-the good news-was not a story two thousand years old? What if it came to be during your lifetime?
