Radical Obedience
What could be more counter-cultural than obedience to the point of death? That is precisely what Jesus did for us, and then he called all his followers to do the same. If we are the beneficiaries of his obedience, how can we obey for the benefit of others?
Jesus says, “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love” (John 15:10). Jesus is inviting us into something incredibly special—a relationship with him and the Father. And he does this by offering us a precious gift—his obedience.
Are Christians bound to obey their authorities? If so, are there any exceptions? How far do they go? When can they resist? This book addresses questions like these by looking deep into the heart of Christ and examining his mission of love and obedience. From the very first rebellion, a curse has infected the heart of humanity to resist all authority. Christ is our only hope.
