God has mapped out the way to live in victory, righteousness, holiness, faith, peace, joy, love, and so forth. Ultimately, He wants us to exemplify the image and nature of His dear Son, Jesus. He reveals all this in His Word. But if we try to live according to the Word, in our own strength and ingenuity, all we'll get is religious activity. The Israelites tried to keep the law, for the most part, but they failed miserably. That's why God promised in Ezekiel 36:26-27 (AMP):A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.In the New Testament, He promised in Hebrews 10:16 (CWSB):This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.In a covenant, there are two parties: God and us, his people. Once we become His children, we must draw near to Him in a living and loving relationship. In that relationship, we must seek His presence to get the most out of that relationship. God will do His part, but we must do our part. We must seek Him and His presence with our whole heart. This devotional is designed to help you navigate your way into His presence.
