Manuscript Submission

Christian Faith Publishing publishes titles in fiction, non-fiction, children’s, reference, poetry, and biographical genres. The first step is to submit your manuscript to us for review. Our editors and publishing consultants will review your manuscript to assess its viability and potential fit. We take great pride in the titles that comprise our catalog. Thus, we must be very selective, and therefore, only some of the manuscripts submitted will be chosen for publication. Once you submit your manuscript, your Literary Agent will contact you within five business days.

Copy Editing

A thorough proofreading and editing process is crucial to your book’s success. This ensures that your readers remain engaged and not distracted by grammatical errors. Our professional editors will ensure your writing meets the standards you and your audience deserve. Our editing staff adhere to the industry standard Chicago Manual of Style when editing your manuscript.

FAQs about Our Editing Services

How long does the editing process take for my book?

As with all our processes, the timeline for editing your book depends on our authors’ timely feedback. While the initial edit typically takes around 60 days, you will receive a revised copy to review, approve, and request changes.

Can I expedite the editing process by approving all changes without reviewing them?

While we appreciate your trust in our editors, we still encourage you to review and approve their edits. Each author has preferences and style choices that may differ from our editors. Approving changes without review could lead to potential issues or additional costs if revisions are needed later.

Can I communicate directly with my editor?

To ensure streamlined communication and efficient workflow, your Publication Specialist will serve as the point of contact between you and the editor. They are trained professionals experienced in handling author-editor communication. Our specialized staff, including editors, designers, and marketers, focus on their specific roles and do not engage directly with authors.

Why is editorial quality crucial in the publishing process?

Maintaining high editorial standards is essential to meet readers’ expectations for professionally published books. Failing to meet these expectations can negatively impact an author’s reputation. We strive to help our authors present their best work to the readership.

Can my friend edit my book instead of a professional editor?

While having a friend review an early draft of your manuscript can be helpful, having a professional editor provide their expertise is crucial. Our editors are publishing experts who adhere to industry-standard resources like The Chicago Manual of Style. While your friend may have grammar knowledge, involving multiple perspectives, including professional editing, ensures higher quality for your manuscript.

Why is it necessary for me to review the edits?

Our editors are skilled professionals but also human and may make changes you disagree with or have personal preferences about. The review period allows you to have final input and make any necessary adjustments before your book moves into production. It ensures that your manuscript reflects your vision and meets your satisfaction before publication.
